An-ex convict who allegedly twice struck with a car a man riding on a bicycle in Chalan Kanoa was found in possession of two rifles, three shotgun shells, and methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d on Wednesday night. <\/p>\n
Roland Kaipat, 34, was arrested and taken to Superior Court Friday on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, illegal possession of a controlled substance, and disturbing the peace.<\/p>\n
Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio imposed a $10,000 cash bail and set the preliminary hearing for May 12 at 9am.<\/p>\n
Assistant public defender Cindy Nesbit was appointed as counsel for Kaipat. Assistant attorney general Barbara Cepeda appeared for the government.<\/p>\n
Police Detective Daniel Maliuyaf stated in his report that investigation showed that Carlos Ramangmou was at a house in Chalan Kanoa with some friends on Wednesday night when he saw Kaipat and a female driving by on a black Toyota Corolla.<\/p>\n
Ramangmou got on his bicycle and followed the car to talk to the female because she never came home since she left their house. <\/p>\n
The report did not mention what is the relationship between Ramangmou and the female.<\/p>\n
Ramangmou approached the car and asked Kaipat to stop the vehicle so he can talk to the female regarding their problem.<\/p>\n
Kaipat, however, allegedly accelerated the car forward, hitting Ramangmou on the right leg and causing him to fall to the ground.<\/p>\n
Kaipat allegedly struck Ramangmou again with the car, prompting him to stand up. <\/p>\n
Ramangmou later told police that Kaipat\u2019s car had a handgun and drugs.<\/p>\n
At 9:16pm Wednesday, two police officers spotted the car driven by Kaipat pulling out of Sister Market in San Antonio.<\/p>\n
The officers requested for additional police units to assist them.<\/p>\n
The officers followed the car until it stopped at the former Sally\u2019s Apartment in San Antonio.<\/p>\n
The officers arrested Kaipat and searched the car, where they allegedly found one clear glass pipe inside a small bag with possible \u201cice\u201d residue. The officers also recovered two rifles and three shotgun shells.<\/p>\n
A Drug Enforcement Task Force officer tested the residue, which allegedly came out to be presumptive positive for methamphetamine. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
