(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As part of this year\u2019s \u201cMan\u2019amko Takeover Day,\u201d some of the CNMI\u2019s elderly visited lawmakers at their offices on Capitol Hill to legislate on issues concerning them.<\/p>\n<p>Essentially, officials on Capitol Hill welcomed the man\u2019amko as acting lawmakers for the day and held a mock session for them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator\u201d Venusto Mangarero, for one, \u201ctook over\u201d the office of Sen. Sixto Igisomar (R-Saipan).<\/p>\n<p>Mangarero introduced Senate Resolution 19-02 in the Senate mock session, which urgently requested the governor to expedite an investigation regarding abuse of employees that \u201ctantamount acts of slavery and nonpayment of appropriate salaries, especially to those who are poor and have little or no formal education.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mangarero introduced S.R. 19-02 in the 19th Senate Mock Session today; \u201cUrgently requesting the governor to expedite an investigation regarding abuse of employers that is tantamount to acts of slavery and nonpayment of appropriate salaries, especially to those who are poor and have little or no formal education.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator\u201d Rudy Sablan, who took over Sen. Arnold Palacios\u2019 (R-Saipan) office, introduced, for his part, Senate Resolution 19-01, which recognizes and honors man\u2019amako for \u201call their teachings, guidance, contributions, and services in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The man\u2019amko senators also talked about care for the elderly, the military lease and use the CNMI property, healthcare for man\u2019amko and retirees especially non-Aetna insurance qualified, Medical referral costs and guest houses challenge for Tinian\/Rota.<\/p>\n<p>Man\u2019amko also visited the House of Representatives and Gov.
