(Contributed Photo)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>In February 2016, 45 participants from Saipan enrolled in the 12-week Gold\u2019s Gym Challenge\u2014giving individuals the opportunity to transform their bodies in just 12 weeks. Audie Maratita was announced the overall winner, while male and female winners were also announced in two different age categories. Additionally, a \u201cMost Inspirational Award\u201d was presented:<\/p>\n<p>Overall winner: Audie Maratita<br \/>\n\u2022 1st Men\u2019s 40+ : Rob Epley<br \/>\n\u2022 2nd Men\u2019s 40+ : Tony Yarobwemal<br \/>\n\u2022 3rd Men\u2019s 40+: Greg De Leon<br \/>\n\u2022 1st Women\u2019s 40+: Dee Clayton<br \/>\n\u2022 2nd Women\u2019s 40+: Irene Cristobal<br \/>\n\u2022 3rd Women\u2019s 40+: Maria Camacho<br \/>\n\u2022 1st Men\u2019s 18-39: Michael Babauta<br \/>\n\u2022 2nd Men\u2019s 18-39: Frank Rosario<br \/>\n\u2022 3rd Men\u2019s 18-39: Michael Flores<br \/>\n\u2022 1st Women\u2019s 18-39: Alfreda Camacho<br \/>\n\u2022 2nd Women\u2019s 18-39: Diane Mallari<br \/>\n\u2022 3rd Women\u2019s 18-39: Brittany Hodge<br \/>\n\u2022 Most Inspirational: Jake Deleon Guerrero<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the three-month span of the Challenge, participants from Saipan with Gold\u2019s Gym trainers and\/or on their own were challenged to transform their lives, and a chance to win their share of $5,000 in cash prizes. With 45 members participating at Gold\u2019s Gym Saipan, the results were astounding.  <\/p>\n<p>Two-thirds of the contestants returned for their final assessment, shedding an amazing 468.2 lbs. For these contestants the average weight loss was an incredible 16.7 lbs or 9 percent of their original body weight. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe could not be more proud of our Challenge winners for their tremendous success, and are thrilled to have played a role in their transformations,\u201d said Tyce Mister, general manager of Gold\u2019s Gym Saipan. <\/p>\n<p>An awards banquet was held on Saturday, May 14, at the Kanoa Resort. Maratita, 2016 Challenge Overall Winner, who shed 44.5 lbs shared, \u201cThis Challenge has given me the opportunity to reevaluate my life for my family.  It has given me time to reflect on how life is way too precious to see it go to waste\u2026These past (12) weeks have been one heck of a journey for me. I have come to realize who I am, what I am capable of doing, and where I need to continue to go. This challenge was not a competition with the rest of the challengers. My true competitor was me to be the best I can for my Shannon (daughter).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rob Epley, winner of the Men\u2019s 40+ category shared, \u201cThe best way to get positive results in life is to be surrounded by positive and motivated people. The Gold\u2019s Gym staff has been that positive support group for me during the Challenge. Jerry Diaz has been my personal trainer during the Challenge. He meets me at the gym at 5:3am, every Monday and Wednesday to guide, teach and inspire me. The entire Gold\u2019s Gym staff is always ready with a kind word, compliment, or smile.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jake Deleon Guerrero was honored with the \u201cMost Inspirational\u201d award. Last year Deleon Guerrero was paralyzed in a devastating car accident. He stated, \u201cI want to inspire others to take on the challenges they face in life, because we truly only have one life to live.
