A 67-year-old Korean woman died possibly due to drowning while swimming on Managaha Island last Sunday morning, Saipan Tribune learned.<\/p>\n
As of yesterday, the Department of Public Safety had yet to release information about the incident to the media.<\/p>\n
Republic of Korea consular assistant Won Jun Lee confirmed with Saipan Tribune on Tuesday about the possible drowning of a Korean tourist at Managaha.<\/p>\n
Lee went to the Office of the Attorney General Criminal Division on Tuesday to get the death certificate for the Korean tourist.<\/p>\n
Lee said police placed the incident under further investigation.<\/p>\n
Lee said the victim, along with two daughters, one son-in-law, and some grandchildren, went swimming on Managaha Island Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
The consular assistant said family members later found the victim floating in the swimming area.<\/p>\n
He said the victim was transported to the Commonwealth Health Center, but was pronounced dead on arrival.<\/p>\n
