(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The training for the 2016 Miss CNMI Liberation candidates kicked off Monday evening at the Northern Marianas College with lessons taught by Ernie Molina, the CNMI\u2019s renowned pageant director and choreographer.<\/p>\n<p>The goal of the pageant fundamentals training is to \u201cprepare these young ladies for the role they will be taking on as titlists, as role models, as ambassadors of our people, and of the Northern Mariana Islands,\u201d said Rose Ada-Hocog. \u201cIn this particular training, they were taught about the three Ps\u2014poise, posture, and presence\u2014which are very important when making a first impression, whether it be for a job interview, attending community events, or meetings, etc.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe objective of the training is to make them understand that their role is bigger than raising funds for the festival,\u201d explained Molina. \u201cAs CNMI\u2019s ambassadors, they need to be confident, graceful, and intelligent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The feeling of excitement amongst the candidates spiked even more as they started their first day of training. \u201cAs we practiced our routine for the opening and coronation night, I realized the huge step we all took to be a part of this year\u2019s Miss CNMI Liberation pageant,\u201d according to Miss CNMI Liberation candidate and Northern Marianas College student Christine Roque.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so thankful to have joined this pageant,\u201d said Miss CNMI Liberation candidate and Kagman High School senior Mardee Ann Hermosilla. \u201cI gained another great mother and 25 other amazing sisters who accept me as I am.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to give a huge appreciation appreciate all the efforts to prepare us for the role we will be taking on as the incoming Royal Court,\u201d said Miss CNMI Liberation candidate and Kagman High School senior Coryn Monica Achas.<\/p>\n<p>The training is the first of a series of trainings that the Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office, Skywalker Communications Group, and the Liberation Day Committee, with the assistance of NMC, have planned for the Miss CNMI Liberation Candidates\u2019 journey of self-discovery and development; a journey that is crucial for young women like them to blossom into strong independent women who will not only serve as role models, but who will also represent the CNMI\u2019s new era of women leaders.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The training for the 2016 Miss CNMI Liberation candidates kicked off Monday evening at the&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":28,"featured_media":228485,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[26,3731,419,262],"class_list":["post-228484","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news","tag-cnmi","tag-ernie-molina","tag-kagman-high-school","tag-northern-marianas-college"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/228484","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/28"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=228484"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/228484\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/228485"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=228484"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=228484"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=228484"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
