Apatang said replacing the flags at the monument right across the Toyota dealership in San Jose is not under his office and lies on the owner of the building just beside the area.<\/p>\n<p>Several flags located at the monument are already worn out and need to be replaced, while the water wheel is no longer working. DKK Corp., a Korean company, reportedly leases the land where the memorial is located.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know that\u2019s the building owner\u2019s job. I think that\u2019s the arrangement. But we took care of planting the flowers as part of our beautification project. We are working with the [Marianas Visitors Authority] to clean the tourist sites. Hope Beautify CNMI could help us,\u201d said Apatang.<\/p>\n<p>He added that they have been busy the past few months cleaning debris left by Typhoon Soudelor. \u201cNot only in the tourist areas but also in the villages. We hope to finish everything by the end of the month. We\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Apatang also encouraged the community to help in keeping the islands safe. \u201cIf the trash bins are full put the trash in plastic bags or other containers.
