{"id":229175,"date":"2016-06-03T06:00:49","date_gmt":"2016-06-02T20:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=229175"},"modified":"2016-06-03T06:00:49","modified_gmt":"2016-06-02T20:00:49","slug":"chamber-host-labor-visa-symposium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/chamber-host-labor-visa-symposium\/","title":{"rendered":"Chamber to host Labor Visa Symposium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Saipan Chamber of Commerce is encouraging all employers, business owners, and those in managerial positions to join a Labor Visa Symposium on Tuesday, June 7, from 8am to 12nn at the Pacific Island Club Saipan\u2019s Charley\u2019s Cabaret.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers Nelson Xu, Bruce Mailman, and Maya Kara, and IT&amp;E human resources manager Shirley Dotts will be the guest speakers as they cover different topics that is affecting the local workforce right now.<\/p>\n<p>Xu will cover the various types of visa programs and the qualifications for each type; Mailman and Kara will cover strategies for businesses for securing and maintaining a sufficient labor force and possible conversion options.<\/p>\n<p>Dotts will present from the employers perspective, including common misconceptions and mistakes. The presentations will be followed by questions and answers.<\/p>\n<p>We urge you to reserve your seat in advance, as space is limited.
