The journey of the four young ladies started after their July 2015 coronation.

The CNMI-wide tour is part of the Royal Court’s efforts to promote the CNMI as a prime tourist destination.

“The trips served a dual purpose—education and promotion. Some of these young ladies have never been to the islands of Tinian and Rota,” said Miss CNMI Liberation Day Royal Court chair Rose Hocog.

“As ambassadors of the CNMI, they have a duty to promote the islands. In order to do that well, they needed to experience the islands, the people, the food, learn about the stories and histories of the different sites.”

Mary Jane Anon, one of the three Royal Princesses, said they became public servants on the day they signed up to be candidates last year.

“As titleholders and public figures we needed to do our part to help the CNMI economy through its oldest industry—tourism. Although some of us work as cultural dancers, the trips gave us the opportunity to do more to promote the CNMI.”

First princess Ashley Tabilisima said she and her “sisters” also became part of history last year when they attended Rota’s first Liberation Day parade.

“We were there for only a short period of time, but we were able to visit and do photo shoots at beautiful tourist spots like the Swimming Hole, the Cross, the big gun, and the small island.”

Last Monday, three members of the 2015 Royal Court, along with Hocog and Skywalker’s Sophia Alvarez, flew to Tinian to join 2016 Miss CNMI Libration Day candidate Malena Hofschneider and local officials in the Memorial Day service honoring the island’s fallen soldiers.

Tinian Mayor Joey Patrick San Nicolas and the members of the Tinian Legislative Delegation were also present during the Memorial Day commemoration. The group also attended the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Veteran’s Pavilion.

“We were only on Tinian for a few hours, but we were able to visit the Bomb Pits, Invasion Beach, the Blow Hole, House of Taga, and the beautiful Taga Beach,” said 2015 Miss CNMI Liberation Queen Zolenska Yaroitemal.

“Just like on Rota, we had our pictures taken and took selfies at the different places and posted it on our Facebook pages. This is to show our friends, families, and all who are connected to us on social media who have never been to Tinian and Rota, how beautiful the islands are.”

Star Marianas sponsored the trip to Tinian.

The 2015 Miss CNMI Liberation Royal Court’s promotional journey of the CNMI ended last Monday…

[4
26,902,11847,11848
post-229192","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news","tag-cnmi","tag-memorial-day","tag-royal-court","tag-royal-princesses
["GET
