She appreciated their kind gesture in her valedictory address in last Friday\u2019s commencement exercises of the Northern Marianas International School at Saipan World Resort\u2019s Royal Taga Hall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEighth grade wasn\u2019t easy but we made it. I thank all of you for being supportive. For all the help and support not only in our subjects but also outside the classroom,\u201d said Rosete, an incoming ninth grader.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe lessons that we learned will forever be in our minds and hearts. Ten years from now I\u2019ll look back and remember all the good things that we shared,\u201d added Rosete, who is currently in Salt Lake City, Utah to compete in the National Speech and Debate Association national finals.<\/p>\n<p>Christian C. Aldan, the class salutatorian, said their journey continues with the next phase. \u201cTreasure each moment. You can become anything if you want to. Find your passion and challenge yourself to become somebody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He then thanked all special people who have become part of his life at NMIS. \u201cThank you to the greatest classmates. Thank you to my teachers who gave me the best education. And, thank you to my family for feeding and encouraging me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CNMI State Board of Education chair Herman T. Guerrero thanked private schools like NMIS for being their partners in providing education. \u201cThis is my first time to attend a private school ceremony. The Public School System needs all the help that we can get.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a day that all of you should be proud of. You are moving on with your education and continuing the journey to learn. In life, education is important since there\u2019s still much to learn out there. Even old people continue to learn. It is an unending process up to the last breath.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Education Commissioner Dr. Rita Sablan, for her part, advised the students\u2014K-3, K-5, grade 6, and grade 8\u2014to hold on to good things and let go of the bad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHold on to tomorrow since holding on to something will get you somewhere. Congratulations to all and thank you for the chance to join the kids on their special day. Congratulations to the NMIS staff for a job well done.<\/p>\n<p>Lance Ivan P. Laxamana, Jener Franz O. Pineda, and Laurence Raevin C. Abad were each of the K3, K5, and sixth grade valedictorians. Sara Josephine Murielle J. Sobremisana was the K3\u2019s first honorable mention with Alianna Layne Q.
