The subjects being taught this summer include: Constructing a Scale Model House; Basic Carpentry; Culinary Arts; Environmental Awareness; How to Maintain Your Car; and Constructing a Non-Circulating Hydroponics Unit.

The program, which will be from June 14 to July 6, marks the second year of the course offering. NMTI is anticipating at least 141 students signing up. Rip Stephenson, Facilities planner and a returning instructor said, “last year was great and we’re look forward to this year’s students. At a glance one may think it’s too long a session for a class, but last year’s students proved us wrong as they refused to stop working on their projects without us reminding them it was time to go home.”

As NMTI continues to grow, it is necessary to get our young students a taste of what other opportunities lay, according to Ross Manglona, director of Continuing Education & Workforce Development.

Manglona further stated, “As we continue our efforts at empowering the workforce, community awareness is of utmost importance. Stakeholders of all ages inspire prospective students and for that reason we are appreciative of PSS’ confidence in our faculty and level of instruction.” (PR)

The Northern Marianas Trades Institute will be hosting middle school and high school students from…

[4
12015,479,12016,2490
post-229919","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news","tag-jessica-taylor","tag-nmti","tag-rip-stephenson","tag-ross-manglona
["GET
