A man who was arrested in December 2015 for allegedly having sex with his 14-year-old girlfriend he just met through Facebook, was apprehended by federal agents on Wednesday after he was indicted in District Court. <\/p>\n
The indictment charged Glenn Ruben Jr., also known as Glenn Mafnas, with one count each of transfer of obscene material to a minor, receipt of child pornography, and enticement of a minor.<\/p>\n
The indictment also seeks forfeiture of any property that the 22-year-old Ruben allegedly used in facilitating the offenses.<\/p>\n
Ruben was taken to U.S. District Court for the NMI yesterday afternoon for his initial court appearance. Attorney Michael Dotts appeared as court-appointed counsel for Ruben. Assistant U.S. attorney James Benedetto appeared for the U.S. government.<\/p>\n
Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona set the detention hearing for June 23.<\/p>\n
According to the indictment, between Dec. 13 and 26, 2015, Ruben used the Internet to knowingly transfer obscene material to a 14-year-old child.<\/p>\n
Ruben allegedly used the Internet to persuade and entice the child to engage in sexual activity. <\/p>\n
It\u2019s not clear whether the 14-year-old child is the same person that the defendant allegedly met through Facebook and had sex on a table in the hallway area of the former fire station in San Roque last December.<\/p>\n
Police arrested Ruben in that San Roque incident and was charged in the Superior Court with sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
