A drunken man allegedly created a disturbance last week at a poker arcade in Gualo Rai, where his pregnant common-law wife works as a cashier, then pushed the hand of a police officer. <\/p>\n
Jeffrey Yanruw, 27, was arrested for assault, disturbing the peace, and obstructing justice.<\/p>\n
Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio imposed a $1,750 cash bail on Yanruw and set the preliminary hearing for today, Monday, at 9am.<\/p>\n
Assistant public defender Cindy Nesbit was appointed as counsel for the defendant. Assistant attorney general Shannon Foley appeared for the government.<\/p>\n
Police Detective Peter A. Aldan stated in his report that the victim, a cashier at U Luck Poker in Gualo Rai, called the Department of Public Safety on Tuesday afternoon after Yanruw created disturbance at her workplace.<\/p>\n
Aldan said according to the victim, Yanruw walked into the establishment and asked her at the cashier\u2019s booth for their apartment rent money.<\/p>\n
The victim, who noticed that Yanruw was drunk, refused to give the money because he would only buy beer.<\/p>\n
Yanruw got angry, shouted bad words at her and threatened to beat her up. He then punched the cashier\u2019s glass window and kicked the cashier\u2019s door. He also tried to open the door of the cashier\u2019s booth. <\/p>\n
Patrol Officer Ralph Rangamar responded and instructed Yanruw to stop kicking and punching the cashier\u2019s window and the door. <\/p>\n
Yanruw told the officer to back off as it\u2019s none of his business. When the officer asked for his name, Yanruw replied \u201cJohn Doe.\u201d<\/p>\n
Yanruw showed his wife the middle finger, called her a bitch, and threatened he would beat her up. He again told the officer to leave him alone.<\/p>\n
Rangamar placed his left hand on Yanruw\u2019s right arm and instructed him to follow him outside. The defendant pushed the officer\u2019s hand away and told the officer to back off.<\/p>\n
