Is it just me or all many of you thinking what I am thinking, when shall \u201cUncle Sam\u201d take the helm of CUC?<\/p>\n
My thoughts on the subject are as follows.<\/p>\n
First CUC has accrued millions, if not tens millions of dollars in federal fines, court cost and other charges for its continued violations of the environmental protection agency mandates and legal actions.<\/p>\n
Then let us not forget CUC\u2019s blatant disregard for EPA mandates that it locate and hire qualified U.S. citizens for upper management positions as related to various divisions.<\/p>\n
Then, you have its ongoing contract worker dilemma, in which CUC had first tried to sue the federal government to keep contract workers even against its agreement to \u201cphase out\u201d contract workers.<\/p>\n
Now, you have CUC spending thousands upon, thousands of dollars that it could put to better use; by training local workers, or even \u201cimporting\u201d qualified U.S. citizens to work with in the CUC structure.<\/p>\n
And at what cost are these continued obstructions of the law costing the average customer? How much does CUC spend on legal costs in repeatedly attempting to violate the laws of this land called America?<\/p>\n
Shall we, the customer continue to foot the bill for CUC to \u201cbeg\u201d USCIS in allowing CW-1 workers to continue to be employed at CUC, even after many years of saying to the Department of Labor, and other federal agencies that it would train and employ U.S citizens for those very same positions that being held by contract workers? CUC is now saying that these contract workers are, \u201chighly trained, skilled laborers\u201d; does that mean that they have information that isn\u2019t available to any U.S. citizen were they given the same opportunity to train at the CUC Lower Base facility\u2014 how is their situation \u201chumanitarian?\u201d Is it because, CUC refuses to locate and hire qualified U.S. citizens, or train local citizens for the positions? Better still, why did it take an impeding federal trial in order to get a serious training program going at CUC?<\/p>\n
When shall Uncle Sam say loudly and with one voice that, it has had enough of CUC\u2019s continued mis-directions, lies, and systematic obstructions in making the utility corporation compliant with federal laws?<\/p>\n
I, for one want CUC to come under federal receivership; the island would then be guaranteed clean, renewable energy, qualified U.S.citizens would be guaranteed employment, and or training\u2014without having to wait for another 10-15 years to pass in order to secure a good paying job working for \u201ctheir\u201d utility company; and the U.S. government would require that any petroleum seller would sell its fuel to the federal utility company at market pricing.<\/p>\n
