(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Mount Carmel Class of 1994 is offering one scholarship for school year 2016-2017.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cThe \u201994 scholarship had an amazing inaugural year and I am pleased the 1994 AlumKnights are able to sustain the scholarship for the second year in a row.  Thanks to the 94 class for their continued support of their alma mater,\u201d said Galvin Deleon Guerrero, MCS president.<\/p>\n<p>Last year\u2019s recipients of the 94 Scholarship were Thomas Manglona II and Catherine Javier. <\/p>\n<p>The \u201c94 Scholarship\u201d is open any student that is enrolled as a junior for SY2015-2016 at any school in the CNMI, and shall be a senior for SY2016-2017, is eligible to apply by answering the question, \u201cWhat Makes You THE ONE?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Essays must be an original piece in written, audio or video format. Audio or video Applicants must also have cumulative scores of 87 percent or higher; or a grade point average of 3.0 or higher; and submit a completed application form. Only electronic submissions of the essays and application forms will be accepted at mcsclassof1994@gmail.com. <\/p>\n<p>According to class president, Manny Ramon, the intent of the award is to encourage more students to experience the excellent academic and catholic education offered at MCS.  <\/p>\n<p> \u201cOur senior year is one of the most memorable times as a teenager and I\u2019m hoping this student will also develop a sense of pride of being a MCS Knight as he or she complete their senior year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fellow alumKnight, Richard Santos adds, \u201cWe are pleased to offer this opportunity to a student in his\/her their final year at MCS. I know that I look back at my education with fond memories.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Essays will be based on creativity, commitment to service, leadership and sense of purpose.  A written essay must be at least 1994, but not more than, 2250 words. An audio or video essay must be recorded, between 5 and 9.4 minutes, and submitted via YouTube link.<\/p>\n<p>The awardee will receive $1,994 toward his\/her MCS school tuition. Other costs associated with enrolling and graduating are not included. Applications are due by Friday, July 15, 2016, 11:59pm Chamorro Standard Time.
