Jacqueline Che, AlumKnight and director of Institutional Effectiveness for Northern Marianas College, was elected as the vice chair, with AlumKnight and entrepreneur, Will Hunter, elected as treasurer, and Joe A. Pangelinan as secretary.

The new board officers and board members expressed their appreciation to outgoing chair, Joe Taijeron. Under Taijeron’s leadership, the school launched several important initiatives. Headed by a leadership change four years ago, the school reversed a decade of enrollment decline, going from about 250 students to current enrollment projections of over 500. The school also improved its financial situation, rose scores on standardized tests, and switched to a new accreditation model. On top of that, Taijeron led the school board to give faculty and staff the first significant salary increase in over a decade.

The new board officers look forward to building on Taijeron’s legacy by finalizing the school’s strategic master plan, which will be launched in the coming school year. To get a jumpstart, the officers are scheduled to meet in July to develop goals and objectives for the coming year.

Pursuant to its by-laws requiring periodic changes in leadership, Mount Carmel School’s Board of Directors…

[4
5124,12196,1111,12197
post-230744","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news","tag-jacqueline-che","tag-joe-taijeron","tag-mount-carmel-school","tag-vicente-ben-babauta
["GET
