(Contributed Photo)

For Tsunami Saipan swimmers Juhn Tenorio and Angel De Jesus, vacation time is still training time.

A few weeks after the school year concluded, Tenorio, instead of taking a breather, went to Guam for a 10-day training session with Tsunami Guam.

“The practice was as hard as Saipan. The pool that the Guam team uses is 25 meters short course, so there are a lot of turns I could learn. It was a great experience to practice with different workout techniques and with different teammates. I would like to thank coach Hiro (Kimura) and Tsunami Guam coach Toshiki Iijima for giving me the opportunity to train,” said Tenorio, who returned to Saipan last Wednesday morning.

De Jesus, on the other hand, is still in Guam as her training session with Tsunami Saipan’s sister club will last for a month.

“Guam practice is a new experience for me and it will really help a lot since I will be joining them this summer. It’s different from Saipan since Tsunami Guam practices in 25 and 15- meter pools. I get to try new workouts and techniques to help me improve my strokes. I also make new friends and get closer to other swimmers I’ve met before. The training in Guam will make me a stronger swimmer and allow me to achieve more best times when competitions come up,” De Jesus said.

In Guam, De Jesus and Tenorio were united with former Tsunami Saipan member Miku Tammy. Tammy moved to Guam with her family late last month and joined Tsunami Guam.

Meanwhile, Kimura thanked Tsunami Guam for accommodating the club’s swimmers.

“In the past, Rezne Wong, Shin Kimura, Kensuke Kimura, and Takumi Sugie have trained with Tsunami Guam so we really appreciate coach Iijima’s hard work and support to our swimmers. This exchange program has been serving both clubs well since 2007,” the Tsunami Saipan coach said.

For Tsunami Saipan swimmers Juhn Tenorio and Angel De Jesus, vacation time is still training…

[5
4900,2592,2965,275
post-230767","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports","tag-angel-de-jesus","tag-juhn-tenorio","tag-tsunami-guam","tag-tsunami-saipan
["GET
