We have great respect for Mayor Apatang\u2019s efforts to beautify Saipan and make it a place even more convenient for residents. We acknowledge his accent on improving the local roads and his efforts in maintaining our road to a higher level of quality.<\/p>\n
After the Soudelor Typhoon, Saipan looked so devastated. Now, it is getting more and more modernized in many directions. The streets are clean, the neatly set flower pots are seen everywhere. We like the flower pots in the places of respect like the Man\u2019amko Center. The late mayor Flores\u2019 fountain (symbolizing eternity) and its surrounding look are great and attractive!<\/p>\n
We residents trust our mayor and his team. He really wants to improve people\u2019s life. He and his team have initiated a number of projects targeting to have Saipan functioning even better. We hope the following suggestion will find understanding and support from Tinian and Saipan leaders.<\/p>\n
A few months ago, on pages of this newspaper, we addressed our people to put their own money, time, and effort to build a bridge connecting Tinian to Saipan. This way, today\u2019s so-close-but-so-far Tinian would get really in-touch with us. People liked the idea and there were many positive responses.<\/p>\n
We believe the two islands\u2019 mayors offices are the most influential hubs of our local and social and political life and they can involve the higher levels of leadership into doing this highly appreciable deed. We together can afford having a bridge at least, consisting of old pantoons. They float over the water and can be folded and put away fast when needed.<\/p>\n
An affordable pay for passing coul dbe enforced and the bridge would be profitable. It can be owned jointly by two mayors offices or trusted private business or owned by government-private sectors.Bridge specialists can put their knowledge to create a connection preserving our islands\u2019 natural beauty and adding everyday convenience and dynamism to the agriculture, production, and transportation.<\/p>\n
The bridge is so needed by the harshly divided islanders. Of the bridge, ties with relatives, friends, business partners, tourism, would get a strong and everlasting boost. Getting employed would get easier. It would save time and resources mean. Healthy competition between bridge owners and the air company also wouldn\u2019t hurt.<\/p>\n
Dear Mayors San Nicolas and Mayor Apatang, please help us to have a bridge! Let the people name it Mayors Bridge! Tinian and Saipan leaders, please come together! Please hatch up a realistic plan to mobilize people\u2019s wishes and resources and turn the two islands accessible through the Mayors Bridge.<\/p>\n
