This was launched on June 30.

BSI-CSR executive director Rita Chong explains how the first phase of the Girl Power Project will work.

“Girl Power Big Sis Little Sis Program has been in the plan for several months. Through collaboration with San Antonio Middle School, this program was put in place to hook up our BSI CSR female staff with middle school girls,” she said.

“The first phase of the Girl Power Project will basically be a job-shadowing exercise,” states Chong. “We’ve developed a Big Sis Little Sis system where each of the participants will have the opportunity to see what it’s like at the workplace of our very own staff. They will be guided throughout the day by an assigned mentor to see how our projects are organized, planned and brought to life. Phase 1 will start next week and will be an ongoing project.”

One of the many participants, Jenisha Dubrall, shares her experience of Thursday’s event and what she expects from the program.

“I like this Big Sis Little Sis Program because some of us don’t have a big sister and if we need someone to talk to, we have them,” said Dubrall. “They came to our school and we got to know about them and the program. I’m glad to be here today because we’re playing games and having so much fun. I want to learn more about what they do at their jobs.”

Also present at the event was Department of Corrections Commissioner Georgia Cabrera to meet the girls and talk about her experiences in her career as a Corrections officer. She also gave a brief presentation on safety and child laws.

The first phase of the new Best Sunshine International, Ltd.’s Corporate Social Responsibility-initiated Project Girl…

[4
1707,12332,12333,7273
post-231341","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news","tag-best-sunshine-international","tag-girl-power-project","tag-jenisha-dubrall","tag-rita-chong
["GET
