I heard and read a few stories about the CWs in town lately. Many of the CWs whose permits and\/or extensions were denied have gone back are preparing to go back to the Philippines.<\/p>\n
The heartbreaking story I heard was about the separation of a family\u2014the mother is detained in the immigration detention center, the two U.S. citizen children were left with the father in their home. I understand the mother is going to be deported back to the Philippines. But why separate them while on Saipan, where will the mother go while here.<\/p>\n
Laws are made to maintain social discipline; laws should be enforced by people who have a mind and a heart.<\/p>\n
It seems that USCIS is filled with people who have forgotten their past. I am sure that each one of them has kin who came to the U.S. to find a better life. That is the same story then and now\u2014in search for a better life. Maybe some are immigrants themselves.<\/p>\n
I have been consciously aware of two situations when \u201caliens\u201d in the U.S. including illegal aliens were pardoned if they come forward thus get their proper documentations for immigration. I wonder why the CNMI was not included in the last amnesty? A strong lobby against the CWs in the CNMI? USCIS plays around with CWs, who in their desire to earn a good living, they are willing to sacrifice themselves including the money that they earned. The fees are so expensive and the paperwork are so much. I say it is a very oppressive system.<\/p>\n
The U.S. and the local government better agree on a more human way of treating foreign workers because they are humans not beasts of burden.<\/p>\n
First, permission for the foreign workers is until 2019; it is not even halfway. Now it is denial here and denial there. What is really happening?<\/p>\n
Is there someone who is clearly thinking about this CW issue who can share the real problem here? To think about it is tiresome. Thank you. <\/p>\n
