Camacho yesterday found probable cause to warrant the filing of charges against Xiongying Xu, a restaurant cook who was arrested recently for allegedly selling a total of 17.6 gross grams of methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d during two buy-bust operations. <\/p>\n<p>At a preliminary hearing, Camacho found probable cause to believe that the crimes of two counts of trafficking of controlled substance, and two counts of illegal possession of controlled substance were committed.<\/p>\n<p>Camacho ordered the 47-year-old Xu to answer the charges.<\/p>\n<p>Arraignment will be on July 11 at 9am.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant attorney general Matthew Baisley, counsel for the government, called to the witness stand CNMI Drug Enforcement Task Force Officer Rudolph C. Sablan Jr., who narrated to the court about their operations that led to Xu\u2019s arrest last June 25.<\/p>\n<p>Chief public defender Douglas Hartig served as counsel for the defendant.<\/p>\n<p>Xu was remanded to the Department of Corrections after the hearing. He has been in detention for failing to post a $200,000 cash bail.<\/p>\n<p>Officer Sablan stated in his report that a \u201ccooperating defendant\u201d managed to purchase 7 gross grams and 10.6 gross grams of \u201cice\u201d during buy-bust operations last June 25.<\/p>\n<p>Sablan said it was the \u201ccooperating defendant\u201d who revealed Xu\u2019s drug activities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N.
