(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nThe CNMI Senior All-Stars will meet their neighbor Guam today to begin their title defense bid in the Senior League division of the 2016 Asia Pacific Regional Tournament.<\/p>\n<p>The CNMI-Guam tussle will open the six-day competition in the World Series qualifier, while host Philippines will take on Australia in the second match in Clark, Pampanga.<\/p>\n<p>The Commonwealth bets will be gunning for their third straight championship in the ASPAC. Last year, the team topped the typhoon-shortened World Series qualifier that Saipan hosted, while in 2014, the squad pulled off an 8-6 victory over Guam in the finals, which incidentally was also played in Clark.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s CNMI Senior All-Star Team is led by manager Lawrence Camacho, who coached the squad that ruled last year\u2019s regionals. Gregorio Camacho is the selection\u2019s coach this year and will be assisted by Bernard Cabrera. Saipan Little League Baseball, Inc. president A.J. Murig is the head of delegation.<\/p>\n<p>Playing for the CNMI Senior All-Stars are Henry Aguon, Kimo Angailen, Nathan Anson, John Richard Atalig, Ethan Babauta, Ace Evangelista, Donnie Fejeran, Tindin Deleon Guerrero, Jay Kalen, Aurel Mendiola, Nathan Nogis, Brandon Pua, Shakobe Rangamar, Virgil Secharmidal, Neldreyton Skerei, and Larson Sebatang. Majority of the members of the team were part of the champion squad last year. The Commonwealth delegation left last Saturday in time for yesterday\u2019s opening ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>The CNMI players will see action in the round-robin preliminaries for three straight days as they will take on Australia tomorrow in the first game and the host country on Wednesday in the second match.
