Castro.

Glass is the seventh prosecutor at the OAG’s Criminal Division as AAG Emily Cohen had left the office a month ago.

Glass will be handling cases involving traffic, misdemeanor, and juveniles.

Glass, of Huntsville, Texas, finished law at Saint Mary University in San Antonio.

Before coming to Saipan, he was a prosecutor handling civil, criminal, and traffic cases in Texas for about three years. He also previously served as a real estate attorney for a year in San Antonio.

Glass said he came from a small jurisdiction and noted that when he took over as a prosecutor, their juvenile recidivism rate went to zero.

He said he’s really happy that he helped juveniles who found themselves in legal trouble not become career criminals or commit more crimes.

Glass found out about the CNMI as he was looking for an island job. Through the Internet, he checked the list of U.S. territories. Glass said when he came across the Commonwealth, he felt it was “just gorgeous out here.” He said he also read reviews from people from the states who are living here.

“So this really captured me and I want to come out here,” said Glass, who just arrived on Saipan last Thursday.

“I love it. It’s awesome. It’s just gorgeous here,” the lawyer said.

Glass, who likes to play basketball and soccer, said on Saipan he wants to check out paddle boarding and rowing.

A prosecutor from Texas has joined the Office of the Attorney General’s Criminal Division.
