(Contributed Photo)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/imgupload\/issx9999ns120137.jpg\" width=\"100\" height=\"59\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0 Tsunami Saipan Swimming Center will be holding a meet on July 14 at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool in Marpi with the host setting several goals for its swimmers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbout 10 rookies will debut in the meet and they are expected to swim hard in every race,\u201d Tsunami Saipan head coach Hiro Kimura said.<\/p>\n<p>The Tsunami Saipan coach added that besides their rookies, the junior and senior members of the club will also race next weekend&#8217;s competition and they are urged to set personal best times in each event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe expect good results from our experienced swimmers. They have to update their PBTs,\u201d said, Kimura, who also mentioned the individual goals of five Tsunami Saipan swimmers.<\/p>\n<p>Fifteen-year-old Takumi Sugie aims to finish the 50m freestyle under 29 seconds, while Angie Marie Tan will go for a record-swim in the girls 13 to 14 100m breaststroke. Tan&#8217;s PBT in the 100m breaststroke is 1:22.12, just less than a second behind the 13-year-old record (1:21.64) of Jil Pierce.<\/p>\n<p>Kaito Yanai&#8217;s goal is to eclipse the second oldest record in the boys 11 to 12 age group-the 200m individual medley mark of Joshua Taitano, who timed in at 2:35.68 on April 1, 1994. Taitano also holds the oldest record in the age group-2:18.66 in the 200m freestyle made on March 28, 1994. Yanai&#8217;s PBT in the 200m IM is 2:36.22.<\/p>\n<p>Miku Tammy, who crushed four marks in the girls 9 to 10 age group during the Guam meet in May this year, hopes to break Jellian Majors&#8217; record in the 50m freestyle (33.36 seconds \/May 8, 2005). Tammy&#8217;s best time in the 50m freestyle reads at 34.17 seconds<\/p>\n<p>Ryuto Yanai, who owns five records in the boys U8 divisions, aims to update his own mark and CNMI age group records in the 50m freestyle (33.04 seconds\/April 14, 2012), 50m butterfly (36.48 seconds\/Feb. 18, 2012), and the 100m freestyle (1:15.18\/May 26, 2012).<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Tsunami Saipan had a chance to swim with Olympic gold medalist (800m freestyle) Ai Shibata of Japan late last month at the Marpi pool.<\/p>\n<p>She visited us last Saturday and swam with us. She gave a lot of advice to our young swimmers.
