There was recently born two factions—Raffy’s GOP and old-time Republicans—who could not come to terms on basic issues.

The former wants to forcibly realign the GOP to set up the 2018 gubernatorial race. The latter wasn’t too keen taking orders from the Raffy cabal. Unity flew out the back window forcing a new paradigm: To each his own!

Coupled with voters’ discontentment all over the NMI the recent show of “farce” begins to take on the form of failed self-realization of its abysmal performance in what’s known as “toxic” republican charge. Or does it still have a warp view of its consistent failure to improve the livelihood of families Marianas-wide?

Have you successfully improved family pocketbooks that have suffered salary stagnancy—zero sum improvement—over the last 20 years?

The smiles are “show” indeed that instantly turns into frowns akin to sharp pancreatic pain on a bad rainy day. A few have rejoined the old establishment including those recently ousted from office. In politics, once you slide into defeat you’re history! The GOP isn’t doing any better on Tinian and Rota either. Old, tired, and confused political trade horses would be released from pasture to look for feed elsewhere.

The GOP’s crumbing unity compliments and resonates well with voters’ desire for something better than the establishment in power that has basically petered out. People’s aspirations are placed front and center in the intensifying debate: Your big mouth as “Do-Nothing” versus family pocketbooks!

How could the GOP put a believable spin to its woefully poor performance on this most vital issue? It could yell all it wants from its hollowed echo chamber no one wants to hear!

Democrats are still organizing and struggling to understand the strange objects appearing on its radar screen. It’s organizational clamor as it secures stronger footing, hopefully.

Kilili joined them at the National Democratic Convention but ignored local Democrats. The latter was hoping that as a senior democrat Kilili would employ leadership to unite the troops. But answers to this and other associated issues could only be wrought from Kilili and party officers themselves. It’s a decision that haunts democrats.

Candidates who have bolted the old GOP establishment didn’t just leave out of convenience. This is the group that has listened with empathy to voters’ clamor for something better than empty declaration of “solutions driven.” Interesting how this has slowly faded in the last two years.

The eventual legislative landscape presents a blurred view of what the Raffy GOP thought it had under its belt. It sets the path to political dooms day where “solutions driven” shifts to “nice try!” In brief, it’s all history for the GOP except for the yelling.

Tinian’s economy on SOS
Tinian Dynasty is basically dead fish in the water after failing to reach an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice on fines being sought in order to resume operations.

The Alter City Group hasn’t lifted a finger. It still has to secure various permits from local government agencies. Otherwise, the Nasarino Bay area it has leased for its casino project is collecting water from heavy squalls. Will it ever move beyond the PR work it has done?

Without the Dynasty, it means no revenues would be accruing into the local municipal government coffers for its operations. It translates into Payless Fridays for all its employees.

With the deepening mess, does it matter to the administration on imperial Capital Hill that bankruptcy is now the biggest ghostly beast staring down the local municipal government’s face?

This is really bad for families who have bank obligations or who send money to their kids in college. It’s a helluva Ninza Jungle Fighting bid for families.

With investments headed south, is there any alternative to reasonably revive the local economy? With Tinian’s casino industry prepped to fail by the revival of the Saipan casino where then is the wisdom and benefits of instant gratification over the long-term sustainability of the local industry?

Is it hard understanding that the Saipan casino would flourish and expand exponentially, while Tinian tries to figure out a game as set by Sen. Francisco Borja and former senator Joaquin Borja votes? It happens when linear thinking fails critical analysis.

Jeffrey “Mentagua” Borja thinks I should pay attention to the water problems on Saipan. Fine. But let’s begin by your putting your mouth where your money is, sir! Twice, the Tinian Casino and Gaming Control Commission was handed Saipan taxpayers money to revive it. If you return this and other funds from our taxpayers here the water problems is easily solved. Sayu?

My point—which you obviously misconstrued due to visionary deficit—is the long-term survival of your local industry that matters not happy short-term gains that fizzle out over the long haul. It’s called “vision.” Am I supposed to empathize for your lack of savoir-faire?

Mary Jane’s future
Someone asked why Sen. Sixto Igisomar wants to rush the marijuana measure into a plebiscite this November? I know that half the time Igisomar suffers from percipiency deficit. Appalled, I had to ask: So what else is new?

I’ve read extensively on the medicinal benefits of marijuana including contrarian views. It means the issue is far from resolved where both sides would converge on a single position. And this is just the medicinal side of the discussion that is at best, inconclusive.

As we’ve seen in Guam, the issue goes to and fro in view of so many unanswered queries that beg for realistic answers. For instance, what are the prerequisites to secure clinic license equipped with laboratory? Who could plant MJ, what type of MJ is allowable, could any Tom, Dick, and Harry plant and sell to the clinic?

It was a superficial show of force that included key cabinet people during working hours…

[6
256,141,934,1055
post-234126","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-opinion","tag-casino","tag-gop","tag-mj","tag-sixto-igisomar
["GET
