Taitano)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>A total of 23 graduated from the American Hotel &amp; Lodging Educational Institute-Hospitality Specialty Course and were feted during last night\u2019s certification and pin ceremony held at the Kanoa Resort in Susupe.<\/p>\n<p>James T. Arenovski, president of Island Training Solutions and the person who conducted the AHLEI three-week training, presented the graduates\u2014ranging from 17 to 40 years old\u2014with their certificates and pins as certified guest room attendants, restaurant servers, and front desk attendants. <\/p>\n<p>David Maratita, acting secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, explained the reason why this program was created in the first place. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to address the economic situation of the CNMI as discussed in Public Law 110-229 and this program\u2019s goal is to enhance the CNMI workforce and escalate people\u2019s skills in hospitality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maureen Sebangiol, Island Training Solutions administrator and Latte Training Academy board member, said that the only two requirements to avail of this program is to be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who is currently employed in the hotel industry in one of these three areas: guest room attendants, restaurant servers, and front desk attendants. <\/p>\n<p>One of the certified restaurant server graduates, Vicente Ada, was swelling with pride upon receiving his certificate.
