Acting governor Victor Hocog on Wednesday signed into law a Tinian local bill to appropriate $365,000 allotted to Tinian from the Saipan casino law for the Office of the Mayor of Tinian and other local programs.<\/p>\n
The $245,000 is intended to \u201csupplement the shortfall in revenue supporting locally funded personnel and operations\u201d of the Tinian Mayor\u2019s Office and the Tinian municipal treasurer, \u201cprovided that up to $12,000 of the funds appropriated shall be used to maintain the Tinian Public Cemetery.\u201d<\/p>\n
The $80,000 is marked \u201cfor the lump sum payment of annual leave of local employees of the Tinian municipality that have separated from government service but did not receive a lump sum payment for their annual leave.\u201d<\/p>\n
The remaining $40,000 is budgeted \u201cto defray operational costs of the Tinian and Aguiguan Legislative Delegation.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Tinian mayor is the expenditure authority of the $245,000 and $80,000 appropriations and the chairman of the Tinian delegation is the expenditure authority of the $40,000 appropriation.<\/p>\n
With Hocog\u2019s signature, House Local Bill 19-65, D1 becomes Tinian Local Law 19-13.<\/p>\n
