His bail was set Friday at a $7,500 cash; preliminary hearing is on Oct. 13 at 9am.<\/p>\n<p>The victim\u2019s forehead was swollen, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant public defender Michael Sato was appointed as counsel for Kaipat. Assistant attorney general Betsy Weintraub appeared for the government.<\/p>\n<p>Police detective Koji M. N.
