{"id":238839,"date":"2016-10-20T06:06:40","date_gmt":"2016-10-19T20:06:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=238839"},"modified":"2016-10-20T06:06:40","modified_gmt":"2016-10-19T20:06:40","slug":"boe-searching-new-commissioner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/boe-searching-new-commissioner\/","title":{"rendered":"BOE searching for new commissioner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Board of Education met yesterday at the Federal Programs Office conference room on Capital Hill with the agenda of appointing a new Commissioner of Education. <\/p>\n<p>The special board meeting started at 9:30am but as soon as the public comments ended, the board immediately moved into an executive session, which is off-limits to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, the board has yet to publicly announce anything about the upcoming selection. <\/p>\n<p>The last education commissioner was Dr. Rita Sablan.<\/p>\n<p>Board chair Herman T. Guerrero said that nothing significant was brought up during yesterday\u2019s meeting. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing really to tell. Not all board members have previews of [the] application.
