The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has entered a confidential agreement with a former employee, Carlton Stevens, who filed a discrimination lawsuit against the agency. <\/p>\n
U.S. District Court for the NMI designated Judge Frances M. Tydingco-Gatewood dismissed with prejudice Stevens\u2019 lawsuit yesterday.<\/p>\n
The dismissal follows the parties\u2019 stipulated request.<\/p>\n
Dismissal with prejudice means Stevens can no longer re-file the case.<\/p>\n
The judge said pursuant to the parties\u2019 request, the court retains jurisdiction to enforce the terms of the agreement.<\/p>\n
Attorney James Sirok is counsel for CUC. Attorney Pamela Brown-Blackburn is counsel for Stevens.<\/p>\n
Stevens, an African-American, sued CUC and its four officials for allegedly not renewing his contract as direct responsible charge operator in CUC\u2019s wastewater division, providing him a used and inoperable computer, and not providing him an office space, among other complaints.<\/p>\n
