About 5 cents were increased for regular unleaded, totaling 25 cents in October.

Mobil’s super unleaded went up from $3.80 a gallon to $4.10 a gallon.

Mobil’s diesel used to sell for $3.66 in September, before shooting up $3.81 and once again to $3.91, which translates to a 25-cent increase in October.

The other gas company on island, Shell, also increased its prices yesterday—5 cents for gas and 10 cents for diesel. The two have traditionally mirrored each other’s prices.

A boat captain, who usually fills up $50 to $60 worth of gas every week, said, “They should drop it by just a little. Not everybody is working.”

Ideal Sign Production supervisor Erwin Gomez said that he wasn’t really monitoring the prices of the gas until now, and he was surprised by the sudden increase.

“Before, I don’t really monitor the [price of] gas. It’s no problem actually. Now that I am aware that gas [prices] increased, I’m surprised. I usually refill my tank every week,” said Gomez.

Eli Mindanao, a father of three, said the gas price increase has affected him.

“It has a big effect on me because a full tank is usually about $42 to $43. Now, it’s about $53 for a full tank. It has a big effect because of additional expenses, such as groceries, rent, and all that. Another reason is because of my children are still in school. I pick them up and drop them off to school everyday before going to work,” said Mindanao.

Mindanao gets a full tank of gas a week.

The price of gas rose once more yesterday, effectively increasing the price of gas twice…

[900
14044,7336,14045,1950
post-239537","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-featured","tag-eli-mindanao","tag-erwin-gomez","tag-ideal-sign-production","tag-mobil-oil-marianas
["GET
