Monroyo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Matansa Football Club\u2019s Guinevere Borja is ahead in the Golden Boot race in the girls U15 division of the 2016 NMIFA Youth Fall League.<\/p>\n<p>Borja, who is now in China to suit up for the CNMI U19 Girls National Team that will be playing in the AFC U19 Women\u2019s Championship 2017 Qualifiers, has collected 18 goals in six games in the double-round robin season. She posted his most goals (5) on Oct. 15 in their 7-2 rout of TanHoldings.<\/p>\n<p>The Matansa forward, who got four goals in their 9-1 triumph over MP United last Oct. 8, two apiece in their Sept. 10 match over TanHoldings and in their Sept. 17 and Oct. 22 tiffs against Shirleys, and three versus Kanoa last Sept. 24, has a five-goal lead over Kanoa\u2019s Paulynn Joyce.<\/p>\n<p>Joyce trimmed Borja\u2019s lead after gaining six goals in their 7-0 trashing of TanHoldings last Oct. 22. Both Joyce and Borja have three games left to notch more goals and boost their bids for the Golden Boot award.<\/p>\n<p>The Top 2 placers are the only two players to record at least 10 goals, as the third-ranked Gillian Villagomez of MP United tallied only nine after eight games. Borja\u2019s teammate Angel Sally and Kanoa\u2019s Toremy Diaz are in fourth and fifth places with eight and six goals, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Another Matansa player\u2014Lyka Sally\u2014is in the Top 10 with her sixth-best five goals\u2014the same number of goals Shirley\u2019s FC\u2019s Jasmine Phan has.  Six more Shirley\u2019s players make it to the Top 10 with Lillian Podziewski logging four, Joannah Carreon and Jerlyn Castillo registering three each, and Valeria Myers, Diana Maniacop, and Katrina Costales posting two apiece. Matansa\u2019s Sunny Woo, TanHoldings\u2019 Clair Barrozo, and MP United\u2019s Rei Sekiguchi also have two goals each, going into the last few games in the fall season. Fifteen other players from the six participating teams made it to the board, scoring one goal apiece.<\/p>\n<p>In the boys U17 division, the race is between two Matansa players. Jun Sik Kim has 13 goals so far and is on top of teammate Evan Belcher, who has earned 10 with two games left in the season.<\/p>\n<p>Three players are tied for second place with MP United\u2019s Sun Joon Tenorio, TanHoldings\u2019 Joshua Galarion, and Matansa\u2019s Joshua De Leon recording five goals apiece.
