Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, with the help of partnering agencies and clubs, was able to distribute about 4,000 pieces of candies at its annual Trunk or Treat event last Oct. 31.<\/p>\n
Erlinda Naputi, acting director for the library, feels that the facility went through a more effective celebration of the annual event. She said they managed to distribute a large sum of candies, had great weather throughout, and had the traffic going smoothly.<\/p>\n
Naputi thanked Joeten-Kiyu Public Library\u2019s partners that made the 2016 Trunk or Treat a success.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like it was a great turnout. It was a lot smoother this year than the previous and with the fact that DPS managed to close down both streets helped with the traffic section. This made it even better for the flow. Last year seemed pretty chaotic so it was pretty refreshing to have things go smoothly,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The library provided its facility, manpower, and candies for the event and had the responsibility of spearheading Trunk or Treat with the assistance of their partners. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe would like to thank the partners for their continued support of Trunk or Treat. I feel like it shows how many of our partners and agencies wish to give back to the community,\u201d Naputi said. <\/p>\n
Those who donated candies included: first lady Diann Torres, Driving Minds Crazy Car Club, Ayuda Network, Domestic Violence Awareness Committee, Office of Youth Affairs-Governor\u2019s Office, Marianas Health, Staywell, Marpac, Coca Cola, IT&E, Northern Marianas Housing Corp., Motherhead\/Fatherdead Program, JKPL Bookmobile Program, Commonwealth Office of Transport Authority, Rotary Club of Saipan, CNMI Red Ribbon Coalition, Department of Public Safety, Saipan Southern High School\u2019s JROTC program, Marianas Business Plaza, and friends of the JKPL. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
