Not everyone can be born a citizen of the United States and some people work really hard just to obtain citizenship so it\u2019s very humbling to know how lucky we are.\u201d<br \/>\n\u2014<strong>Lily Lizama<\/strong>, Chalan Kanoa <\/p>\n<p> \u201cI would have to say the holiday is really important. If things didn\u2019t happen as they did, we wouldn\u2019t be able to do many of the things we do on island now.\u201d<br \/>\n\u2014<strong>Alexis Paige Sablan<\/strong>, San Jose<\/p>\n<p> \u201cTo me, it\u2019s just a reminder to do more with the things given to us due to our status as citizens of the United States.\u201d<br \/>\n\u2014<strong>Syfl Islam<\/strong>, Garapan <\/p>\n<p> \u201cCitizenship means I could vote and I could work for the federal government. Coming from Europe and being a war veteran for about 40 years, I eventually became naturalized as a United States citizen. I\u2019m just thankful for the opportunities I am able to chose from.\u201d<br \/>\n\u2014<strong>Imants Eklingbergs<\/strong>, Chalan Galaide<\/p>\n<p>  \u201cCitizenship Day, to me, is a time to be thankful, for the people who have come before us that gave us things we have now.\u201d<br \/>\n\u2014Benjamin Sison, As Lito<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t really celebrate it.
