{"id":240456,"date":"2016-11-14T06:06:36","date_gmt":"2016-11-13T20:06:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=240456"},"modified":"2016-11-14T06:06:36","modified_gmt":"2016-11-13T20:06:36","slug":"fire-hits-gualo-rai-house-possible-arson-eyed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/fire-hits-gualo-rai-house-possible-arson-eyed\/","title":{"rendered":"Fire hits Gualo Rai house; possible arson eyed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fire, believed to have been intentionally set off, broke out at a two-story concrete house in Gualo Rai on Friday shortly before midnight. <\/p>\n<p>No one was reported injured in the blaze, according to Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Service spokesman Derek Gersonde.<\/p>\n<p>Gersonde said the cause of the fire was found to be the burning of boxes and clothing, which suggest intentional action.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurther investigation is warranted,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The house had moderate heat and smoke damage in the kitchen and living room. <\/p>\n<p>Gersonde said that DFEMS received a call on Friday at 11:38pm from the Department of Public Safety 911 dispatch about a fire south of the Northern Marianas Protection and Advocacy Systems Inc. office and the former Eucon International School dormitory.<\/p>\n<p>Upon arrival of firefighters from Garapan, a firefighter reported that bystanders had used three fire extinguishers to stamp out the blaze. <\/p>\n<p>Initial investigation showed that the fire was isolated to the second floor of the eastern room of the building. <\/p>\n<p>Gersonde said investigation showed two points of origin of the fire: one at the eastern side of kitchen underneath the cabinet and kitchen counter and the other at the western side of the kitchen near the restroom and bedroom doors. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A fire, believed to have been intentionally set off, broke out at a two-story concrete&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":23,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[4233,4234,2502,215],"class_list":["post-240456","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news","tag-derek-gersonde","tag-dfems","tag-eucon-international-school","tag-public-safety"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/240456","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/23"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=240456"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/240456\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=240456"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=240456"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=240456"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
