{"id":240554,"date":"2016-11-15T06:06:47","date_gmt":"2016-11-14T20:06:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=240554"},"modified":"2016-11-15T06:06:47","modified_gmt":"2016-11-14T20:06:47","slug":"ambulance-ends-crashing-palm-tree","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/ambulance-ends-crashing-palm-tree\/","title":{"rendered":"Ambulance ends up crashing into a palm tree"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services ambulance ran off the road and slammed into a small palm tree in front of a house in As Perdido while responding to a car crash late afternoon on Nov. 3, according to DFEMS yesterday. <\/p>\n<p>No injuries were reported at the scene, according to DFEMS acting information officer Linus L. Mizutani Jr.<\/p>\n<p>The ambulance\u2019s driver, firefighter II Allen Teregeyo Calvo, was found at fault.<\/p>\n<p>Mizutani said that based on the traffic investigation, the ambulance was traveling at about 64 miles per hour.<\/p>\n<p>He said the road surface was wet and weather condition was cloudy at that time.<\/p>\n<p>Mizutani said that Calvo submitted to a breath test immediately after the accident, with negative results for alcohol use.<\/p>\n<p>Mizutani said Calvo been placed on restrictive duty until completion of the department emergency vehicle operators course.<\/p>\n<p>Mizutani said that last Nov. 3 at 5:02pm, the Department of Public Safety dispatched a traffic unit to an auto crash involving an ambulance unit from Koblerville Fire Station #4.<\/p>\n<p>The medic-5 ambulance was responding with red light and siren to a reported crash incident at Flame Tree Road in Dandan behind the American Red Cross building.
