Kennedy on Wednesday entered a default judgment against three persons who are defendants in a racketeering lawsuit filed by a Korean businessman and his former company. <\/p>\n<p>Kennedy said it appears from the record that the summons and complaint have been served upon Hu Jin An, Jeong Eun Taek, and Joann P. Hensley.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy said that An, Taek, and Hensley have failed to plead or otherwise defend themselves, as directed in the summons and provided in the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, notice is hereby given that default is entered against defendants Hu Jin An, Jeong Eun Taek, and Joann P. Hensley,\u201d Kennedy, who is also the clerk of the court, said.<\/p>\n<p>Plaintiffs Il Hwan Kim and KSA Corp., through counsel Pamela Brown-Blackburn, disclosed that they already served the summons and complaint on An, Taek, and Hensley.<\/p>\n<p>Brown-Blackburn said An, Taek and Hensley failed to answer the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Kim and KSA alleged in their lawsuit that the defendants conspired to steal millions of dollars from him for his hotel and casino project on Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from those three defendants, Kim and KSA Corp. are also suing former Public Lands secretary Oscar M. Babauta, former DPL employee Ramon S. Salas, and 10 unnamed co-defendants pursuant to Racketeer Influence and Corrupt Organizations Act and other causes of action.<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiffs asked the court to hold the defendants liable to pay them damages, court costs, and attorney\u2019s fees. <\/p>\n<p>District Court of Guam Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood will preside over the lawsuit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>U.S. District Court for the NMI Magistrate Judge Heather L.
