{"id":241452,"date":"2016-11-29T06:00:03","date_gmt":"2016-11-28T20:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=241452"},"modified":"2016-11-29T06:00:03","modified_gmt":"2016-11-28T20:00:03","slug":"two-way-tie-batting-pitching-lead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/two-way-tie-batting-pitching-lead\/","title":{"rendered":"Two-way tie for batting, pitching lead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The GSM Masters\u2019 Jerry Ayuyu and Saisei\u2019s Justin Reyes are the early leaders in the batting race, while there is also a tie between the Papa Bears\u2019 Paul Camacho and BSI Aces\u2019 Mel Sakisat for the top spot in the pitching contest in the 2016 Masters Baseball League.<\/p>\n<p>After two games at the Francisco \u201cTan Ko\u201d Palacios Ballfield, Ayuyu was 6-for-8 at the plate for a batting average of .750. Reyes earned the same mark to tie Ayuyu for the lead in the batting race. Nine other players posted a batting average of at least .500 to make it to the Top 10. The list includes Papa Bears\u2019 Bob Lizama (.625), the Old Stars&#8217; Jess Mesa (.571), Rubak\u2019s Theo Minor (.571), the Old Stars\u2019 Ben Tagabuel (.571), BSI Aces\u2019 John Acosta (.555), GSM Masters\u2019 Mark Flores (.500), BSI Aces\u2019 Reno Celis (.500), Saisei\u2019s Bern Kileleman (.500), and BSI Aces&#8217; Joe Tenorio (.500).<\/p>\n<p>Six other players made it to the leaderboard, which was based on seven or more at bats and after the results of the Nov. 23 games had been tallied.<\/p>\n<p>In the pitching race, both Camacho and Sakisat earned 0.00 ERA after their respective teams completed their first three matches of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Camacho pitched 7.1 innings and gave up no earned run, while Sakisat was flawless in the six innings he worked the mound. Sakisat\u2019s teammate Ben Duenas is at second with a 2.10 ERA, while Old Stars\u2019 Bill Camacho (1.83), Saisei\u2019s Darwin Masaharu (2.33), and GSM Masters\u2019 Juan Diaz (3.66) complete the leaderboard.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Camacho and Sakisat are also ahead in the most strikeouts with eight apiece, while Bill Camacho and Juan Diaz have seven each so far. The Papa Bears\u2019 Nick Reyes has six Ks.<\/p>\n<p>In other categories, the Old Stars\u2019 James Fleming is on top of both runs scored and triples, while his teammate George David and Justin Reyes are the frontrunners in the doubles and RBIs divisions, respectively. <\/p>\n<p>Flemiang is in a tie with Pepi Tenorio in the runs category as they have earned eight each, while in the triples, the former has one so far, the same number that Bill Camacho, Ayuyu, and Mesa have.
