Sai Sei\u2019s Justin Reyes is alone at the top of the batting leaderboard, while the Papa Bears\u2019s Paul Camacho and the BSI Aces\u2019 Mel Sakisat are still in the deadlock for the pitching lead in the 2016 Masters Baseball League.<\/p>\n
Reyes, who tied the GSM Masters\u2019 Jerry Ayuyu for the batting lead last week, now owns the solo lead after going 9-for-12 and averaging .750 in four games. He edged Ayuyu after hitting 3-for-4 in their 11-21 loss to the Old Stars last week, while the latter was booted out of the Top 15 as the GSM Masters (1-1) did not see action in the last three playing days of the league.<\/p>\n
The Old Stars\u2019 Jess Mesa, who was third last week, moved up to fourth with his .615 batting average and 8-for-13 performance at bat. Rubak\u2019s Theo Minor (.600\/6-for-10), the BSI Aces\u2019 John Acosta (.555\/5-for-9\/), and Papa Bears\u2019 Bob Lizama (.545\/6-for-11) rounded out the Top 5.<\/p>\n
Also on the leaderboard are the Old Stars\u2019 Manny Cabrera (.533), Sai Sei\u2019s Ota Nabeyuke (.500), the Papa Bears\u2019 Mike Muna (.500), the Old Stars\u2019 Randall Aguon (.444), Rubak\u2019s Chel Castro (.444), Sai Sei\u2019s Taylor Germance (.438), and the Old Stars\u2019 George David (.400), Ben Tagabuel (.400), and Tom Camacho (.364). The batting leaders were based on nine or more times at bat<\/p>\n
In the pitching race, Paul Camacho and Sakisat are still perfect with similar 0.00 ERA. Camacho did not give up a single run in 7.1 innings he pitched for the Papa Bears (1-3), while Sakisat had the same feat in six innings with the BSI Aces.<\/p>\n
Ben Duenas, also of the BSI Aces, kept the third spot with its 2.10 ERA (three runs allowed in 10 innings pitched), and was followed by Sai Sei\u2019s Darwin Masaharu (.233), Minor (2.63), the GSM Masters\u2019 John Diaz (3.66), and the Old Stars\u2019 Bill Camacho (3.96).<\/p>\n
Bill Camacho has the most strikeouts so far, adding nine more in their win over the Papa Bears last Wednesday night to bring his total in four games to 16. Bill has overtaken Paul Camacho, who has eight so far to tie Sakisat. Diaz and Duenas have seven apiece, while the Papa Bears\u2019 Nick Reyes has registered six so far.<\/p>\n
In the runs category, James Fleming and Tagabuel gave the Old Stars the Top 2 spot after posting 14 and 11, respectively, while Nabeyuke and Manny Cabrera have 10 apiece.
