Trump has announced that he has chosen Elaine L. Chao for secretary of the Department of Transportation.<\/p>\n<p>Gov. Ralph DLG. Torres, who serves as co-chair for Trump\u2019s Asian Pacific American Advisory Committee, commended Trump\u2019s pick, noting that Chao\u2019s expertise is crucial to redeveloping the nation\u2019s infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cElaine Chao is the first Asian-American to be appointed twice to a presidential Cabinet. In her professional capacity, she has ensured equal opportunities for all people to build better lives through improved labor enforcement. She has helped restructure department programs during her time as DOL secretary while providing wage security of the nation\u2019s workforce.
