{"id":242078,"date":"2016-12-08T06:00:01","date_gmt":"2016-12-07T20:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=242078"},"modified":"2016-12-08T06:00:01","modified_gmt":"2016-12-07T20:00:01","slug":"woman-allegedly-sold-ice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/woman-allegedly-sold-ice\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman allegedly sold \u2018ice\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CNMI Drug Enforcement Task Force officers arrested again on Tuesday a woman who allegedly sells methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d on Saipan. <\/p>\n<p>Julie Duenas Camacho, 50, was charged with trafficking of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. Her bail was set Tuesday at $100,000 cash; preliminary hearing will be on Dec. 12 at 9am.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant public defender Cindy Nesbit was appointed as counsel for Camacho. Assistant attorney general Matthew Baisley appeared for the government.<\/p>\n<p>According to Baisley, task force officers arrested Camacho last Sept. 27 for allegedly selling \u201cice\u201d to a cooperating source during a controlled \u201cbuy-walk\u201d operation.<\/p>\n<p>In an earlier operation, a cooperating source allegedly managed to buy $40 worth of \u201cice\u201d from Camacho at the latter\u2019s house on Capitol Hill. Camacho then said she wanted to assist law enforcers as a confidential informant. The Department of Public Safety agreed to release her without cash bail and sealed the case.<\/p>\n<p>Baisley said that Camacho cooperated with one drug buy operation but has not assisted law enforcers since then.
