Docomo Pacific hosted a job fair yesterday at the Fiesta Resort & Spa to fill up 20 job openings.<\/p>\n
Saipan\u2019s second undersea fiber optic cable, Atisa, is expected to result in high speed Internet and an abundance of jobs to support the services.<\/p>\n
\u201cAtisa is going to open doors for services and products that haven’t been available before in the Northern Mariana Islands. We want to match this anticipation with the right people\u2014people who are as passionate as we are to take this project to the next level,\u201d said Docomo Pacific public relations coordinator Tatiana Perez.<\/p>\n
Earllon Granada, 26, applied for a retail customer service representative lead position and call center lead. Granada thinks the process went well, despite the wait.<\/p>\n
\u201c[The job fair was] good. It was just the waiting that was really challenging, but so far so good,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Granada likes to think positive whenever going through job interviews such as these. \u201cI like to think I do. I don\u2019t want to assume that I don\u2019t. I have this mindset where I think, when I walk in there, I will get hired.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jang Gun Korean Restaurant server Marissa Songco, 36, was testing the waters for a possible job at Docomo Pacific.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am trying my luck. I think I have a good shot because I worked well for other companies and my skills could contribute greatly to the company,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Mark Diestro, 27, who applied for a customer service representative position, thinks that his interview went smoothly and hopes to go through the initial screening.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are a lot of more experienced applicants, but I do have experience under my belt too. I like to try to keep my confidence up,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Docomo Pacific brand manager Danny Daniel was pleased with the outcome. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re super-excited that there was such a good turnout. It shows that there are huge opportunities in Docomo Pacific, and we are happy to see that people are excited to join the family,\u201d said Daniel. <\/p>\n
