San Nicolas recently appointed former Tinian Casino Gaming Control Commission chair Matthew C. Masga to serve as resident deputy commissioner of the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services for the Municipality of Tinian.<\/p>\n<p>Masga previously served as a detective in the Tinian Department of Public Safety. Masga later served as the resident department head for the Department of Commerce under mayors Francisco M. Borja and Jose P. San Nicolas. <\/p>\n<p>From 2010 to 2012 Masga was the local representative for Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (Ind-MP). In 2012, then-mayor Ramon M. Dela Cruz appointed Masga to the Tinian Casino Gaming Control Commission where he served as chairman until late 2015.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have confidence in Mr. Masga\u2019s ability to move the department forward. As a veteran law enforcement officer and with his extensive leadership experience, Mr. Masga will make an excellent addition to the DFEMS leadership,\u201d said San Nicolas.<\/p>\n<p>According to San Nicolas, he has already spoken to DFEMS Commissioner Clyde Norita who has pledged to work closely with Masga.<\/p>\n<p>Masga\u2019s appointment to DFEMS was submitted to the 15th Tinian Municipal Council chair Raynaldo Cing for the council\u2019s advice and consent. If confirmed Masga will serve out the balance of San Nicolas\u2019 term, which expires in January 2018. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tinian Mayor Joey P.
