(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>TAMUNING, Guam\u2014The Guam Legislature presented certificates of recognition to Docomo Pacific 2016 short-film directors, in honor of their commitment to feature and create awareness for social issues facing our island today, highlighting racism, bullying, suicide, and cancer survivorship.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the 33rd Guam Legislature presented the awards to short-film directors Sarah Filush, Tristan Gonzales, Marissa Ricalde, and Docomo Pacific creative manager and producer Bobby Bonifacio Jr. on Dec. 2, at the Guam Legislature. <\/p>\n<p>Among the members in attendance were Sen. Dennis G. Rodriguez Jr., Sen. Benjamin J.F. Cruz, Sen. Tina Muna Barnes, and Sen. Frank B. Aguon Jr.<\/p>\n<p>The films were first released at an invitation-only screening for the 2016 Guam International Film Festival on Nov. 16. Among the three featured Docomo Pacific short films were, Shoebox Memories, directed by Ricalde See You Later, directed by Gonzales, and People&#8217;s Choice Award winner for GIFF 2016, Kids From Chuuk, directed by Filush. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the second year of Docomo Pacific shorts, and we are happy at how enthusiastic\u00a0the community has been toward the films we produced.
