{"id":243905,"date":"2017-01-06T06:00:55","date_gmt":"2017-01-05T20:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=243905"},"modified":"2017-01-06T06:00:55","modified_gmt":"2017-01-05T20:00:55","slug":"expansion-eyed-chc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/expansion-eyed-chc\/","title":{"rendered":"Expansion eyed for CHC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. yesterday shared its plans for the renovation of the CNMI\u2019s lone hospital.<\/p>\n<p>CHCC chief executive officer Esther Muna believes that the Commonwealth Health Center is long due for a renovation due to the continuous increase in population of the CNMI.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThirty years after it was built in 1986, the building that houses the hospital and other CHCC offices are in need of renovation and expansion,\u201d said Muna.<\/p>\n<p>Muna said original plans for CHC were focused on providing hospital services to a population of less than 20,000. According to real-time world statistics website worldometers.info, the population of the CNMI as of 2016 has reached 55,389.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe number of patients CHCC treats has increased right along with an increasing population.
