(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library raised 16 boxes in all during its canned food, clothes, and toy drive last month, according to library assistant Ray Deleon Guerrero.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cThe donation drive was a success with a total of 16 boxes worth of clothes, food, and toys, and sandals,\u201d he said. \u201cThe donation drive was a success with kind and generous donations from people who wanted to help out and in the spirit of Christmas as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On behalf of Karidat Social Services and the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, Deleon Guerrero thanked everyone who donated. He also credited Lollipops for donating clothes, sandals, and children&#8217;s books. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank you Lollipops and people of the CNMI for your donations to assist those in need and continue spreading kindness all around!\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New collections<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library and Tinian Public Library added new items to their new collections in December. <\/p>\n<p>Deleon Guerrero said both libraries have 142 new items. <\/p>\n<p>The books range from AV2, juveniles, to young adults, and adults, as well as Pacific and Asian books. Recommended books are: 47 Ronin, Painted Ladies, Buried Prey, Friends Forever, Wish you Were Here, Liza, Lexi the Firefly Fairy, Apprentice in Death, Two by Two, Commonwealth: A Novel, Big Mouth &amp; Ugly Girl, The Pilgrims of Rayne, and Wolfsbane. JKPL also has new magazines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur new collection of books will be appreciated by not only the regular patrons of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, but [also] by people who haven&#8217;t visited our public library and have wondered what types of books and other items we release each month.
