{"id":24450,"date":"2012-07-20T02:02:11","date_gmt":"2012-07-20T02:02:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newspaper.ctsi-logistics.com\/?p=24450"},"modified":"2012-07-20T02:02:11","modified_gmt":"2012-07-20T02:02:11","slug":"masked-man-robs-poker-arcade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/masked-man-robs-poker-arcade\/","title":{"rendered":"Masked man robs poker arcade"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>A masked man armed with a machete robbed the MCM2 Poker Game Room located behind San Jose Mart yesterday morning.<\/div>\n<p>No one was reported injured but the suspect managed to run off with over $10,000 cash, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Preliminary police investigation showed that the suspect, described as wearing all-black clothing, including a black cloth covering his face, entered the arcade at 5am.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, there were two female employees who were cleaning the game room, according to police spokesman Jason Tarkong.<\/p>\n<p>One employee was outside washing her feet when the suspect suddenly entered the establishment.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect threatened one employee by lifting the machete as if he was going to strike her. The employee picked up a broom and braced herself against a wall to protect herself.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect kicked in the door to the cashier&#8217;s booth, grabbed the cash from the drawer, stuffed it in a plastic bag, and fled on foot.<\/p>\n<p>Witnesses saw the suspect running east toward a nearby residential area. Police responded and canvassed the neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>Tarkong said police recovered some of the stolen cash on the ground and secured them as evidence.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect remains at large.<\/p>\n<p>Saipan Tribune learned that police investigators were still reviewing footage from the surveillance camera.<\/p>\n<p>MCM2 Poker Game Room is owned by Hyodok Corp. It&#8217;s other remaining poker game room, Finasisu Market Poker, was also robbed by two men, including one armed with a gun, four years ago.
