Frank Aguon (R-Saipan) has stepped down as resident treasurer and board member of the Commonwealth Cancer Association.<\/p>\n<p> Aguon served as a CCA board member for a year. <\/p>\n<p>He stepped down as board member at the association\u2019s board meeting last Jan. 19 to prioritize his membership with the 20th Legislature.<\/p>\n<p>Aguon told Saipan Tribune that he would continue to support CCA at \u201cthe other end of the spectrum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe that to continue advocating for CCA, I want to do it up at the Hill [Capital Hill]. I want people [to be aware] that [CCA] is serious when it comes to addressing cancer,\u201d said Aguon. \u201cI am and will continue to be a staunch supporter and advocate for cancer survivors and patients.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Aguon said the public should get to know the CCA more. \u201cI just want to let the public know that CCA is a worth checking out because CCA has an outreach program that is available and anyone that is diagnosed with cancer is free to come over and see what benefits CCA has to offer in relation to their illness,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The board meeting also saw the election of Roman \u201cBo\u201d Palacios as the new president of CCA.<\/p>\n<p>Other new CCA board members are Alicia Deleon Guerrero, Nora Sablan, and Cesar Dumatol.
