{"id":245393,"date":"2017-01-30T06:06:24","date_gmt":"2017-01-29T20:06:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=245393"},"modified":"2017-01-30T06:06:24","modified_gmt":"2017-01-29T20:06:24","slug":"man-pleads-guilty-selling-ice-garapan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/man-pleads-guilty-selling-ice-garapan\/","title":{"rendered":"Man pleads guilty to selling \u2018ice\u2019 in Garapan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man indicted in federal court for allegedly selling methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d on Saipan has pleaded. <\/p>\n<p>Xi Rong Chen, also known as Loa Biao, pleaded guilty last Wednesday to distribution of a controlled substance as part of a plea deal.<\/p>\n<p>Chen, a Chinese national, admitted that he sold \u201cice\u201d to an individual working as a confidential source for the Drug Enforcement Administration on Aug. 19, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney George Hasselback is counsel for Chen. Assistant U.S. attorney Garth Backe represented the U.S. government. <\/p>\n<p>Chen will be sentenced on May 3, 2017, at 9am.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V.
