Peachy Quitugua, who graduated from NMC last May 2016, took the exam in January.

The NCLEX-RN tests an individual’s nursing knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to the safe and effective practice of nursing at the entry level. The exam is used by nursing boards in all U.S. states and territories to award nursing licenses.

“We are extremely proud of Peachy’s accomplishment,” said NMC president Dr. Carmen Fernandez. “She now joins other NMC students who have passed the NCLEX and are pursuing their medical career goals.”

Quitugua was crowned 2016 Miss Marianas last July.

“In addition to her academic abilities, Peachy also has strong leadership skills which will help her as she pursues a career in nursing,” said Rosa Tudela, who chairs the Nursing Department at NMC. “We are proud of her and wish her well in all her endeavors.”

“The major factor that contributed to my passage of the NCLEX was my family,” Quitugua said.” They were my main support system. They believed in me and provided any and all support they could from when I started out as a nursing student to now achieving my goal as a registered nurse. My mother has been both my mentor and my inspiration; she always reminded me that I could accomplish anything I dreamed of.

“Our NMC instructors provided us with abundant knowledge through coursework, clinical experience, and community work that prepared us well for the NCLEX-RN,” Quitugua added. “They shaped our minds and gave us a will to work hard. I’m extremely grateful to NMC and our instructors for giving us this opportunity.”

Asked what advice she would give other students who are preparing to take the NCLEX, Quitugua said, “You have to believe in yourself, work hard, and never give up. Remember, don’t study just to pass the NCLEX, study be the best nurse you can be.”

For more information about the NMC Nursing program, contact the NMC Nursing Department at 237-6743 or visit the Nursing Department office in Building C at the NMC As Terlaje campus (M-F, 8am- 4:30pm). (NMC)

Another Northern Marianas College graduate has joined the list of students who have passed the…

[14188
1089,69,15020,5837
post-245783","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-education","tag-nclex","tag-nmc","tag-nursing-department","tag-registered-nurses
["GET
