(ERWIN ENCINARES)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>At least 1,104 registered participants attended last Friday the 9th annual JP Memorial Glow Run, an untimed annual 5-kilometer fundraising run in memory of John Pangelinan, the former publisher of Saipan Tribune.<\/p>\n<p>Proceeds will go to the Commonwealth Cancer Association\u2019s March Against Cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Glow Run 2017 started at the Garapan Fishing Base in Gualo Rai to the 2.5km turning point at Quartermaster Road before going back to the Fishing Base.<\/p>\n<p>Last year\u2019s Glow Run saw the participation of about 500 people<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s number caught organizers off guard. The 1,104 registered participants do not include those that were unregistered but continued to walk. According to organizers, participants withdrew their registration upon learning that the limited Glow Run shirts were all sold out.<\/p>\n<p>The event was attended by multiple groups of the community, including soccer clubs and both private and public school students.<\/p>\n<p>Schools and football clubs that garnered the most participants were awarded with a cash prize.<\/p>\n<p>First place winners for private and public schools went to Agape Christian School and Dandan Middle School, respectively. Each school received $500 for their participation.<\/p>\n<p>First place winners for the football clubs went to Kanoa Football Club, followed by Shirley\u2019s Football Club and MP United Football Club for second and third place, respectively.
